What the official material names
The current PlayStation preview and Capcom interview identify these combat concepts: Dynamic Dismemberment, Break Issen, Parry, Deflect, and Oni powers. This establishes the vocabulary, not a complete mechanical manual.
The same material frames the game around swordplay, with Miyamoto Musashi using the Oni Gauntlet against Genma in a dark early-Edo Kyoto setting.
What is not confirmed here
No approved official source in this pack supplies frame counts, universal parry windows, numerical damage values, a guaranteed Issen trigger sequence, or a complete move list. Claims such as “press this at exactly this animation frame” would be invented without new, reproducible evidence.
A named mechanic is not a timing table. Treat any version-specific observation from a demo as an observation, not as a final-game guarantee.
Safe demo-practice route
Use the demo to observe one defensive option at a time. Note what the game visibly labels or teaches, then compare that result with the latest official materials when they are updated. Avoid turning a single successful attempt into a universal strategy claim.
This page is deliberately a source-bound primer. It does not replace a post-launch tested combat guide.
